Zope 3 is a great system with lots of flexibility but if you want to start quickly you have a problem. grok is going to solve that in that it uses conventions instead of configuration and thus makes Zope3 as easy as e.g. Ruby on Rails. Philipp von Weitershausen explained on the Snow Sprint 2007 in Sibratsgfäll how grok works and who to start with it.

In this interview we talk about how it was in Second Life in the early days, how the future of it might look like and what impact Open Source might have. Back then when we did the interview, the Open Source client was not released and we were more expecting a time of August 2007 instead of January when it actually happened. Thus it’s interesting to hear now what we though back then about it.
